Hi All,

I am proposing a Cisco Meraki WAP for installation in a vertical lift shaft approx 50m deep. There are optional antennae available and I am hoping to view coverage patterns for each in order to choose the most appropriate.

Thanks.

List of compatible antennas with MR86 Access Point: MA-ANT-20/25/27 and AIR-ANT2513P4M-N=.

  • MA-ANT-20 Meraki Dual-Band Omni Antennas - Not recommended
  • MA-ANT-25 Meraki Dual-Band Patch Antenna - Not recommended
  • MA-ANT-27 Meraki Dual-Band Sector Antenna
  • AIR-ANT2513P4M-N= Dual-band, 4-port, 30° beam

MA-ANT-27 datasheet - https://meraki.cisco.com/product-collateral/dual-band-sector-antenna-datasheet/?file

AIR-ANT2513P4M-N= datasheet - https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/antenna/installation/guide/ant2513p4mn.html

Plus there are third-party antennas from other vendors.

Note - When installing any Wi-Fi equipment inside the elevator cars or shafts, local regulations need to be followed, as many times such installations are prohibited either for safety reasons or because the building owner or local fire department may prohibit them.

If anyone can provide a link to data on the optional MR86 WAP Antennae coverage profile it would be much appreciated.

Thank you CJ, much appreciated.

Check out Hamina Wireless. Their tool has a really cool 3D view of each antenna pattens
