ASR 9906 Errors with A9K-2x100GE-TR

I installed an A9K-2x100GE-TR in one of our new 9906's and repeatedly get these messages in the log:

LC/0/2/CPU0:Feb 7 00:12:31.851 UTC: sysmgr[91]: l2fib_mgr(1) (jid 257) (pid 876672) (fail_count 2) abnormally terminated, restart scheduled

LC/0/2/CPU0:Feb 7 00:14:11.860 UTC: sysmgr[91]: %OS-SYSMGR-7-DEBUG : l2fib_mgr(1) (jid 257) did not signal end of initialization
LC/0/2/CPU0:Feb 7 00:17:42.459 UTC: l2fib[257]: %PLATFORM-PLAT_L2FIB_VPLS-3-INIT_ERROR : Failed to register with multicast fabric: Resource temporarily unavailable (0000000b)

 

There is 0 config on this box, other than line con stop bits to 1.  The only license is for the 24 port 1GE10GE cards, but this doesn't look like a license issue.

The Cisco ASR 9906 supports A9K-VSM-500 and Tomahawk-based line cards; it does not support SIP-700, A9K-ISM-100, Trident-based, or Typhoon-based line cards. Refer to ASR 9000 Series Line Card Types for information on line card types.

Hi,

 

i have seen that error usually when the np fails to initialize or some other hardware issue.

do you see any pfm alarms?

 

show pfm location 0/2/cpu0

show log | inc pfm

 

you may need to physically re-seat the card to try and recover this.

TAC confirmed that neither the Trident nor Typhoon LC's are compatible with the 9906.
