Update

12.6 ES03 release which has important updates for the VPN-Less feature has been released. The changes and configuration details can be found on the TechNote page for the release.

Feature overview

VPN-Less Finesse provides the flexibility for agents to access the Finesse desktop from the Internet without requiring a VPN connectivity to the Enterprise data center.

To enable this feature, a reverse-proxy pair needs  be deployed in the DMZ.

This feature is supported in Unified CCE, Packaged CCE, HCS for CC, and Webex CCE.

Note : Media access remains unchanged in reverse-proxy deployments.

To connect to the media, agents can use Cisco Jabber over MRA or the Mobile Agent capability of Contact Center Enterprise with a PSTN or mobile endpoint.

Solution component versions supported

  • Finesse - 12.6 ES03
  • CUIC    - 12.6 ES03
  • IdS       - 12.6 ES03

  • UCCE/Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS) for Contact Center (CC) - 11.6 or later
  • Packaged Contact Center Enterprise (PCCE) - 12.5 or later

Note : PCCE/UCCE 2k deployments will need to be on 12.6 version of CCE due to LD/CUIC co-resident deployment

Thank you for posting this.

Do you know if a Finesse IP Phone (FIPPA) over Expressway/MRA is in the works as well? Basically, it would be another way, like the VPN less Finesse, to extend CCE/Finesse connectivity out to agents who may be working from home.

Not that i know of. MRA does not tunnel the HTTP traffic required for FIPPA & deals with only audio traffic. IPPA too does not support secured HTTP, so there seems to be major gaps on both of these.

Using the VPN Less feature you can have agents on PSTN/Jabber, who can work from home comfortably.
