Cisco Finesse IP Phone Agent - Supported Endpoints

I'm confused as to why the Cisco Finesse IPPA is only supported on a limited number of phones.  The link below has only 7 SIP phones supported, I don't understand why the 8841 is supported and the 8845 is not?  They are basically the same phone, only one has a camera.

My guess would be because they either did not update the matrix or did not have time to complete the testing of IPPhone agent feature on these since these phones were introduced sometime after the 8841s were. I don't see why they would not work, but for official support I would contact Cisco.

[+5] to Chris for his great inputs, before updating the Compatibility Matrix we make sure that the complete product functionality had been tested rigorously. By the time Compatibility Matrix is out and if the testing for a particular thing is not completed then it does not make to the final list. However, once it had been tested fully the Compatibility Matrix is also updated to reflect the changes over the time.

If you really want to check whether 8845 IP Phones are supported for Finesse IPPA or not, feel free to open a PDI case. More information on opening a PDI case can be found at below link

Note: Do not forget to review the Overview document to make sure that your Company holds the required certification to receive the PDI support

Deepak-

As per your suggestion, a PDI case was opened and sure enough a PDI Technical Advisor responded with the same link above:

http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Unified_CCX_Software_Compatibility_Matrix_for_11.0(1)#SIP_Phones

and stated that no video phones appear on the list.

If that is the case, then definitely engineer must have validated the information from his internal resources.

I would suggest you to wait then for the support of these phones to be checked and validated accordingly after some time.

Regards

Deepak

It would be excellent if the compatibility matrix could let us know if a phone model is undergoing the validation process, or if it was deemed unsupported.  Right now, the lack of even mentioning the model leaves us guessing and time is wasted opening a support forum post, tac case, pdi case, asking local account team, etc.

E.g.,

Finesse IP Phone Agent Supported SIP Phones

Model Status
7821 Supported
8841 Not Supported
8845 Pending
