Hi
Customer would like to deploy UCCX 8.5 Premium in a VMWare VDI environment.
In this environment the virtual PCs run applications as VMWare ThinApps.
This means we cut a standard software image and stream it on demand to the PC.
Therefore it will be necessary to create a ThinApp for the CCX Agent.
Does anybody now if this is supported and if there are any limitations
Thanks

Hi
As per the CAD development team CAD CLIENTS are not supported on Vmware environment .
In CAd 8.0 installation guide (page 52) there is a step which states to "
Select Yes if CAD is installed in a thin client environment (for example, Microsoft Terminal Services, Citrix, or VMWare). The default setting is No."
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_8_0/installation/guide/cad80ccxig-cm.pdf
This led to a confusion - and following docuement defect was opened to fix the guide
--------------------
CSCtl73820 CAD 8.0 Installation guide stating support for VMware
Symptom:
CAD 8.0 Installation guide stating the support for VMware environment.
Conditions:
VMware is not a supported option for CAD client.
Workaround:
None, documentation error.
---------------------------
Hope this helps

Hi
The link that you provided is for version 8.0
Please could you advise if this link also applied to CAD version 8.5 (there is no mention of it in the CAD 8.5 Installation Guide).....
So basically my question is are CAD version 8.5 CLIENTS supported on VMware VDI environment?
If the answer to the above question is no then what future CAD version will support VMWare VDI?
Thanks

8.5 doc will not have that information because of the defect mentioned above.
Bottom line 8.5 CAD clients are not supported on VMware platform
Thank you

Gurmakh,
What Anuj mentioned is correct. About your above query which is about feature roadmap, you might want to open a case with PDI Helpdesk to inquire more about it.
