Hi all,
I have configured CUBE box-box redundancy recently. It is all good when the CUBE1 is active. However, calls fail for both incoming&outgoing when CUBE failovers. Both CUBEs has the same configuration except the IP addresses of the interfaces.
Any help would be appreciated.
CUBE WAN VIP: 10.38.0.99 DMZ on the firewall --> mapped to 207.195.52.111, which is pointing to ITSP 208.68.17.52 (One SIP Trunk)

SIP trunk in CUCM is in full service and pointing to the CUBE LAN VIP.
Re-post this discussion since the old post is missing.

No that easy to digest the debug output on a mobile phone, but one difference I see is that there is no authentication happening on SBC2. Not sure if this is the problem or not, but something that sticks out anyway.
01-11-2021 09:40 AM
It would be so much easier to read your debug output if you attach it in individual files per SBC instead of putting the text directly in the post.
01-11-2021 11:06 AM
The authentication under sip-ua is the same.
CUBE1:
sip-ua
authentication username 3068080270 password 6 cBHFeFMFhRV`WgULZbSYFUZHabb]fZQE]FbCgPT realm edm.trk.tprm.ca
disable-early-media 180
retry invite 2
retry response 3
retry register 4
retry options 4
CUBE2:
sip-ua
authentication username 3068080270 password 6 cBHFeFMFhRV`WgULZbSYFUZHabb]fZQE]FbCgPT realm edm.trk.tprm.ca
disable-early-media 180
retry invite 2
retry response 3
retry register 4
retry options 4
The log files are attached.

SBC2 never get any traffic from your ISP, neither answer on invite or sip option ping. You need to check with them if they actually receive the traffic from the cube and if so why they don’t respond to it.
01-11-2021 12:55 PM
Yep, there is no any response in return from ISTP. It is odd, actually, CUBE1 and CUBE2 are using the same WAN VIP (10.38.0.99 and mapped to a public IP 207.195.52.111 on the firewall).

Hi Roger,
The user has purchased 200 CUBE RED licenses. Do i need to apply " mode border-element license capacity 200" for both CUBEs?
Thanks

I found this under Cisco license portal, could be the license issue.

Hi there,
The ITSP is not responding when the call is on CUBE 2, so either the ITSP are not receiving your traffic or they are receiving it, but are somehow not responding to CUBE 2. Odd you might think as the VIP is mapped to the same public IP as you say.
Are we sure that CUBE 2 SIP trunk is authenticated with your ITSP? E.g. if you issue a "show sip-ua register status" on both CUBEs, are the outputs the same?
Would it also be possible to supply a copy of the configuration of the two CUBE's too?

Hi Scott,
You meant that the WAN VIP (10.38.0.99 in DMZ) cannot be mapped to the same public IP? We only have one sip trunk to the ITSP. In addition, there is nothing coming up when i issued the command "show sip-ua register status" on both CUBEs.
Also, it could be the issue for activating the CUBE license (CUBE-200-RED), no sure if it is correct that i only applied the command " mode border-element license capacity 200" on the CUBE1, and the command "mode border-element" under voice service voip on the CUBE2? As my point of view, the CUBE license should be transferred to the standby CUBE when CUBE failovers. However, i got "CUBE app is not enabled" when i run the command "show cube status" on the CUBE2.
The running configure for both CUBE are attached.
Thanks.

Hi there,
Both config files you have supplied are of cube1.

Thank you Eric,
On CUBE2 would you be able to change your session target on dial-peer 201 to "session server-group 2" so that it matches the config on CUBE1 please and test again?
Regards,
Scott
