Is it possible to show a different caller id for external and internal?  For external we want the company name to show up and internally we want the users name and phone extention to show.

Phone used is the Cisco 7945.

Hi,

This is not supported with cucm and cme.

For example, If Steve from Division A dials Tony in Division B then it

shows their names to each other but when Steve dials a

customer external to the business then it shows the name of Division A

and not the individual name.

The example can be achieved with TCL and VXML in IOS gateway. The script

queries an HTTP server to get a text corresponding to the calling

number and inserts the text into signalling (Display IE).

It's not an ideal soultion as it needs to be maintained outside of

standard configuration procedures of CUCM.

This is exactly what we need when steve calls tom its shows thier names but when steve calls a customer it shows Company name and not his name (steve).  Where can i find the script?

Although it is not supported by Cisco as mentioned above by Payal (+5 Payal), one way we were able to get this to work was by changing the ASCII Calling Name display under the Device > Phone > Line configuration.  This is used when sending calls to a gateway (typically external calls) and we've used that as a workaround to have external calls use a company name for example, and internal calls will continue to use the Calling Name display configured under the line as well.  Mind you, this was with CUCM, not CME.

HTH,

Chris

In most cases, the telco will not accept name information as a hand off from CUCM.  Be nice if they did, but they usually don't.

In most cases, the name information is provided via a database lookup (Used to be GTE that managed the nationwide database, but probably multiple now) against the ANI.

You can simply uncheck the use callers external phone mask checkbox from the route pattern, and then just type in what you want it to use (i.e. the main number).  You can have the phone company set the caller ID info for whatever you want on your DID's.  Work through your account rep to make that happen.

Hello,

If you have contacts stored in a CRM, ERP, Exchange, Lotus or any other similar data store and you wish to display proper identification based on lookup in these stores you can chceck out 2Ring's IPPS www.2ring.com/ipps. It is able to do a lookup in almost any store and display customized caller identification on the phone's screen, including for example the name of the company the caller calls from. And it is also able to store this information in Phones missed calls, received calls registers so that you know who and from what company called you while you were away.

please contact me or info@2ring.com if you are looking for a demo, trial or more information.

Hope it helps,

Miro
