Facing issue with Cisco Phone registration Message Registration rejected, Error Mismatch
Tried re adding phone

Make sure the phone you configured is the exact type the phone is in reality. I.e. If phone is 7945 don't build it as 7965.

Phone type is correct 7942G

Did you check the switch port to see if it says 10/100/1000? If so, it is not 7942G. It would be 7942G-GE

Hi,
Adding to Chris's suggestion, try to perfoming a Factory Reset to the phone, some Certificate issue could cause this problem too.

what is the CUCM version u are using?
Do u have enough licenses on CUCM to register new phone?

Was this phone registered to a CUCM 8 or above before being put on the CUCM 4? If so, it could be the CTL. You need to remove that through Admin mode on a 7942G, I believe.
