CUCM Call Fails - 603 error

Hi Folks,

I have a CUCM v8 and a 2951 VR. When the customer is making calls to a couple of numbers they are failing with a busy tone. However calls to other numbers that are nearly identical and match the same route patterns complete. It appears to be happening on just a couple of numbers. Please see the attached for working and non working examples.

I believe this is an issue with the SIP provider as the logs show that the call is trying to connect but gets a SIP 603 Declined error:

603 DeclineThe destination does not wish to participate in the call, or cannot do so, and additionally the destination knows there are no alternative destinations (such as a voicemail server) willing to accept the call.

Can anyone confirm that this is the case? Or suggest what else it could be?

Many thnks

Hi,

From the logs I could see there is a authentication need, follwoing by several 100 trying messages and finally a decline message., Is this a normal Voip call or any other, you may need to research on this part.

Regards,

Hi M.

Yes this is just a regular local call for the user. It is an office location that they can reach by mobile phone so the far end is receiving calls with no issue.

Phil

Hi were you able to get any resolution on this?

Thank you.

Aomar.

Hi Philmartin79,

How did you solve this issue, i am facing same issue.

Hi,

if the other system responds with an error message (not only this specific one, but in general), you have to talk with the other party, why they are sending an error.

They have to tell you, what is wrong with the call. Maybe some headers in the outgoing INVITE are missing / are in wrong format.

Based on the information you get from them, you have to change the config, so that the outgoing messages are correct.

Hi,

Thank you for your your response.
This is my outgoing invite message details. I don't know how to check headers.
Please let me know if you found anything familiar.

No one in this community can do the work for you. As @b.winter wrote you’ll have to check this with the end that sends the error message to you. Send them the output from debug ccsip message for a call that fails and ask them to explain why they reject it.

Apart from this I see that you are asking for help on a post that are multiple years old. As it is quite unlikely that your specific issue matches the OP it would be much better if you where to create your own post to ask your question as that is likely to bring you much more attention from the community.
