Hello Experts ,
We have installed a new C8300 series device as voice gateway however it doesnt allow me to add any voice related commands . We are yet to configure smart licensing on this device . Can you please suggest if we need to enable smart licensing with UCK9 package on this device before starting any voice related configuration ?

You have to enable a DNA licenses first. E.g. license boot level network-essentials addon dna-essentials

Why DNA license are needed for the voice feature ? are you sure ? is there nay documents available for that ?

Check that you have these on the router.
license accept end user agreement license boot level uck9
These lines is what we normally add on our ISR 4K's when we get them replaced by an RMA and have not yet got the license transferred fully in SL.

That’s a great question, but it’s one that you need to address with Cisco. Short layman answer is that it’s how Cisco have developed this on this platform. Advice you to reach out to your account team to discuss this with them and potential with the BU.
