You can try :

http://www.freesshd.com/?ctt=download

https://www.solarwinds.com/free-tools/free-sftp-server

I use Linux based for all TFTP / SFTP  / SCP Services.

Globalscape, Cygwin, Open SSH and Titan are CISCO tested sftp server. Freeftpd is not recommend due to well know issues with the file size issues.

Cisco PCD can also be used for backup, its free and  supported.

You can try Freeftpd if its works without any issue use it or try something mentioned above .

We use Solarwind SFTP. It’s free and has worked well for us for many years.

Hi Balaji,

Thank you for the advise. I will try Freeftpd.

Hi Balaji,

I installed FreeFTPd and initiated a manual backup. It was 100% completed and the files are transfered into the server.

Is there any way to confirm that the backup stored on the other server was properly stored/transferred? Or just having it transferred to other server is enough?

If the backup processed showed successful , Backup files saved properly on  the folder.

Hi Nithin,

Cisco PCD, is it Cisco Prime Collaboration Deployment?

Yes Prime Collaboration Deployment. But you need to manually move the backup files from PCD to another machine using winscp etc... we use this in some cases, but no very common.

Hi Roger,

I used to utilise Solarwinds SFTP. But since the last Solarwinds upbreak, we prefer not to use it anymore. Although it served us well and the issue only impacts Solarwinds NPM (if I remember it correctly).

This is correct. The defect that is well known does not AFAIK affect the SFTP server software.

Hi Roger,

I have installed Solarwinds and it is running but when setting up a Backup server in CUCM I get error > Update failed : Unable to access SFTP server. Please ensure the username and password are correct.

We can ping the SFTP server from CUCM and visa versa.  The server is local so no firewall to check for ports etc.

Any help will greatly be appreciated as always!

Can you login to the SFTP server, with the same credentials as you use in DRS in CM, from a computer by using a SFTP client application?

Not sure if I understand correctly but the VM guys spun up a Windows VM with Solarwinds on it.  I log into the Windows box with my own domain creds and once in I set the user creds for example cisco cisco, so I know the un+pass is correct.

I mean can you from a computer connect with a SFTP client, like FileZilla Client, with the same credentials that you use in CM DRS for the backup device configuration?
