CUC failed to connect with office 365

Hi everybody,

I am trying to integrate the CUC with office 365, by following this guide https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/unified-communications/unity-connection/118828-config-cuc-00.html

however, when I tried to validate the connection in CUC (at Step 2-f), CUC returns the following error. (Failed at searching the network)

CUC error.PNG
I tried some connectivity tests
- success: ping from CUC to autodiscover-s.outlook.com
- success: ping from CUC to outlook.office365.com
- success: ping from CUC to 8.8.8.8

Is there any people can help ?

Thanks in advance

Sam

Looks like you’re trying to use Basic authentication with the integration to O365. That won’t work. You’ll have to use oAuth authentication for this. What version of CUC are you using?

That version is end of support - and didn’t support OAuth. You’ll need to upgrade to a current version 15 release before you can continue. The new version will require Smart Licensing so ensure those licenses are in your Smart/Virtual account. Your partner can help change the version entitlement on your subscription if needed. You can order bootable media through My Cisco Entitlements. Ensure you read the release notes, upgrade guide, and run the pre-upgrade COP file.

I'm using CUC 11.5.1.13902-2

I try to look for oAuth at CUC, but i don't find it.
Web-Based Authentication Mode, has Basic and NTLM options only

I found a CUC11 doc from cisco  https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/11x/unified_messaging/b_11xcucumgx/b_11xcucumgx_chapter_01.html

It said >>> OAuth2 (Applicable for Cisco Unity Connection 11.5(1) SU8 and later): OAuth 2.0 based authentication mode

Maybe I can try to update to SU8 or above, and try the OAuth again... ...

As @Jonathan Schulenberg wrote that version do no longer work with integration to O365 as Microsoft has deprecated the Basic authentication quite some time ago. If you search the community you'll find plenty of other posts in relation to this. You'll need to be on a version that supports oAuth.

just found the doc from cisco

OAuth2 (Applicable for Cisco Unity Connection 11.5(1) SU8 and later): OAuth 2.0 based authentication mode

maybe i can give it a go ......

Even if you get oAuth to work your version has as a whole passed end of support milestone. So your better off if you follow the advice to upgrade to a version that is within support.

Thank you so much @Roger Kallberg @Jonathan Schulenberg
Problem is fixed when using oAuth
