Hi all, sorry if the question is already posted: my scenario:
- one wireless lan controller WLC 2504 (software version 7.6.130.0) with 11 AIR-CAP702I-E-K9 joined (the controller can support 15 access point), all works smoothly;
- to extend the network, I've bought one AP 1815i-E-K9, the vendor said to me that's fully compatible, but right now It can't join with the WLC. The AP gets the IP and it's pingable but the web page of WLC shows only the 11 old AP's, no join for the new AP: its led cycles between green, light green and amber.
Can someone confirm that a software update on the controller is essential to permit WLC 2504 and AP1815i to work together, as I read in this post?
Thanks for support

Hi @proximine1
You need to upgrade your WLC version at least at 8.3.112, previous versions dont support 1815i model.
Please refer this link to verify the information.
Now I suggest to use 8.3.143 or 8.5.135 version that are the most stable version and recommed by cisco.
If you need information about how to update your WLC, please check this Link.
