WLC 5520 with only CIMC

Hi guys!

I have bought a refurbished WLC 5520 and I noticed that it has not installed the iOS. Is it possible?

At first configuration I connected my laptop to the Service Port and I gave it an IP but i can see just the CIMC page.

How can I solve this problem?

Thanks a lot!

If it really has no OS installed then your only option is RMA to replace the hardware.  The files to install OS from blank are not publicly available.

Does the CIMC show disk installed and enabled?
You could also try updating the CIMC as per the release notes:

Have you tried console into the WLC?

When you console into it, what is the WLC prompt?

Can you reload the WLC and paste the boot logs.

The 5520 is a UCS m2xx-series chassis with a virtual WLC firmware "on top".

The chassis can be re-used as a server if the correct type of SDD is used.
