Hi,
Does anyone specifically know whether there is a firmware parameter required for CIPC ("load" command) when running it with CCME?
I have doen a fair bit of digging and all I can see so far is that you can specify the phone type as "type cipc".
I understand that CIPC is basicaly an emulation of 7970, so isn't the 7970 load appropriate?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,
I have not setup CIPC with CME but according to the attached doc no firmware is required. Have a look;
Cisco IP Communicator 2.0
**No firmware required**
Cisco IP Communicator 2.0 is supported by Cisco CallManager Express 3.3 using Cisco IOS Software Release 12.4.
From this doc;
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps4625/prod_installation_guide09186a00805f6cb4.html
Cisco IP Communicator Overview (CME)
From this doc;
Use the normal phone provisioning commands. In the "type" command, use the "CIPC" keyword to identify this phone as a Cisco IP Communicator.
Hope this helps!

Rob,
That is a helpful response. Although I had read the second document already this did nothing to confirm whether there was any requirement or not, however the first link is clear enough...
Thanks again,
/Chris

I could not get my CIPC working with my CCME4.0.
If you have a solution by now, please help.

Joe,
Make sure you put "type CIPC" under the ephone that you created for the IP Communicator.

Definitely there are no load commands to give, the CIPC is self-contained excpet that if you configure locales on the CCME that will just mess the font on the display.
What is that is not working ?
Is the phone to registering, unable ot place calls, or what ?

Guys,
I was using the CIPC through the VPN client. When I upgraded the CIPC from 2.0.1.1 to 2.0.2.0 and the VPN client from 4.8.02.9 to 4.8.02.10 it started working.
