I’m running into an issue installing the secondary/subscriber Unity Connection (CUC) server at a client. It keeps on failing the validation and not allowing me to continue:
I have removed and re-setup the server on the Primary/Publisher CUC using both hostname and IP address 3 times now to no avail. I can ping the server being installed from the Publisher/Primary without issue. Other Pub/Sub servers between the subnets installed without issue.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what I could try next? Has anyone seen this before?
Any help much appreciated!

I ended up using the "Back" button on all the install screens till it allowed me to shut down the guest. Then I powered the VM back on and restarted the install once again and worked the second time around. Nothing was changed. Very odd.
Thank you all for your suggestions!

Hi,
Can you check if NTP sync is working correctly between Pub and NTP server.

Hi there,
+5 to my friend Manish for his good tips!
It sounds like this bug;
Symptom:
Subscriber installation does not indicate Security Password mismatch.
Error on Screen:
Configuration validation with cucpub (x.x.x.x) failed.
This node is not found in cuc10's server configuration.
- Is cucpub entered correctly?
- Is cucpub the correct first node for this node?
Other details like Hostname/IP Address of Publisher are entered correctly. This error is misleading.
Conditions:
Seen on all versions of Unity Connection and CUCM
Workaround:
N/A
Cheers!

Guys, we need to add the Sub into the cluster page on the Pub before we start the installation of the sub, right?

Hi Velin,
That is most correct my friend!

Thanks, Rob! I'm hitting the same bug described in the first post. I will try it again tomorrow with the workaround described here. Any other suggestion?

Hi,
I am installing CUC 11.0 Subscriber and i have done all the pre-configuration in CUC Publisher like i have added subscriber details in cluster and activated all the services in serviceability page and also restarted the server.
But i am getting this "critical error". Here i have uploaded image of cucm but i am facing this now for cuc.

I've triple checked this during my first install attempt. I posted a reply on this but all I did was restart the install and it worked.

Same thing with CCX Sub and work fine after VM back again!

11.5.1.11900-26 - same condition
SUB1 went in fine.
SUB2 required this process.
Backed out, bounced the VM, let it continue and all was well.
