Uploading Greeting to Unity Connection Call Handler error

So after you finally deal with all the certs and java nonsence, I get to the point where I can load a local WAV file and attempt to upload it to the Unity Connection Version 10 server:

Call Handler;

Edit Greeting;

Select Play/Record under Greeting

After Jave finally co-operates, under options select "open file" and load the new wav file

I can play the wav

I hit SAVE

"Fail to record name" error and file not saved?

Hi Hieronymous,

Just to add a note to the great info from my friends Deepak & Carlo (+5 each) I think you are likely hitting this bug;

CUC Greetings Upload "failed to record name"
CSCuv32210
Symptom:
Attempting to upload greetings file for user or call handler using the CUC Administration web page.

Java applet loads and can open file, but when hit "save" on page, see error message "failed to record name"

Conditions:

Workaround:
Before hitting "save" on page, use applet to play the file back to phone, as described in supportforums article:

90% of the time this issue is related to JAVA version. Even though you reached till the point wherein it allowed you to perform the Save operation but still JAVA has a role to play there as well

In case you are using v8 for JAVA then definitely it is not supported and will not work. The highest you can try is version 7 update 75 or Java version 7 update 51. Audio Text Manager is a great tool for avoiding all these JAVA issues and provide a perfect platform for recording prompts etc, it will be worth giving it a try this time and going forward always

On java security section, add your unitity connection url in this way:

https://<unity ip address>:8443/

Comprehensive :) as always. I am sure if mine or Carlo's suggestion will not work, yours will definitely.

First thanks to all who replied, actually they are all valid responses.   I tried this from two MAC's and Two Windows machines.  The result was different for each!  Even after updating the Browsers, and JAVA to the same version.   I cant speak for the rest of you, but lately the SSL and Java issues are driving me to drink and I really dont need anymore excuses...

I did not try using the tool recommended by Deepak, as I would then need to download and install Informix OBDC connectors etc.   How much pain do you have to go through to upload a simple wav file!   Thank you Deepak I am sure that would work.

The wining solution was to play the file through phone first.  Then is saved with  no error of any kind.   Migrating Alpha Particles I guess.

Thank you all!

Glad your issue had been resolved and thanks for updating the forum.

Regards

Deepak
