Why is it if power to a switch is lost the config gets lost when the power comes back online and the switch reboots. We don't have this issue all the time but have seen it a number of times.

We have two buildings beyond 200 metres.We have got single mode fibre running between the buildings but we have GLC-SX-MM= SFP module in hands.CAn we do the connectivity ?If works,is it a standard pratise ?

Unknown SNMP status for some cards in CAT 6500. SHOW MODULE when connected to teh switch shows everything is fine. No problem. But SNMP shows these unknown status, etc.See attachment.Happening on 4 x CAT 6500 switches.

i have 3 switches where the tacacs is not working on them 1 is a 3750, 2 4506.local loging will not work either.the same tacacs configs are on every switch over 100 and only 3 are unable to authenticate.Any ideas would be nice.
