in 5ghz ,there is no channel overlapping so we can combine channel and make it as 40 MHZ or we can keep it as single channel also so what is rule about channel width?means when to combine or keep it as individual

I have a 142ACM as a mesh extender to a 240AP, both running the latest firmware 10.4.1.0.  The mesh extender attaches fine but after 8-10 hours the CPU utilization starts spiking and then the extender goes unreachable.  Once I unplug it and reboot it...
